Westerly Winds Likely to Bring Rainfall, Snow Today

The country is currently experiencing the influence of westerly winds along with a low-pressure system formed over the Arabian Sea, which is expected to bring light to moderate rainfall in some areas today, October 27.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the hill areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are likely to witness generally partly cloudy conditions this afternoon, while the remaining areas will also experience partly cloudy skies.

Light rain or snowfall is possible in one or two places of the high hills and mountain areas across all provinces, the department stated.

Tonight, the department forecasts predominantly cloudy conditions in the hill regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the Terai areas are expected to remain partly cloudy.

The department’s weather bulletin further indicates the possibility of moderate rain or snow in several areas of the hill and mountain regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces, as well as at a few places in the hill and mountain areas of Lumbini province. -- RSS
