Gold prices in Nepal soared to an all-time high on Friday, October 31, amid a global surge in precious metal values.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of hallmark gold jumped by Rs 7,100 per tola (11.66 grams) in a single day to reach Rs 258,000.

Silver also gained, rising to Rs 3,350 per tola from Rs 3,275 the previous day.

In the international market, gold was trading at around $4,360 per ounce.

Domestic prices have been on an upward trajectory for several weeks, interrupted only by brief corrections. The latest surge mirrors global trends, as investors increasingly seek refuge in gold amid fears of a potential US government shutdown and broader economic uncertainty, according to international media reports.
