The flow and water level of the Saptakoshi River at the Koshi Barrage receded early Monday morning, October 6, after heavy rainfall eased in eastern Nepal.
Superintendent of the Armed Police Force, Nirmal Thapa, told the state-owned RSS news agency that the flow measured 435,305 cusecs at 6 a.m., down from more than 533,000 cusecs recorded the previous night.
Although the river’s level is gradually falling, all 56 sluice gates remain open, Thapa said.
Red warning lights and flags have been activated and hoisted at the barrage as the water level is yet to fall below the danger mark.
