Hotels in Chitwan to Offer 75 Percent Discount to Stranded Travellers

Travellers stranded in different parts of Chitwan district due to transport disruption will be provided a 75 percent discount on hotel and lodge room rates.

The decision was made at a meeting held at the District Administration Office on Saturday evening, October 4, attended by local authorities and tourism stakeholders, according to Chief District Officer (CDO) Ganesh Aryal.

He said that travellers who have entered Chitwan but are unable to reach their destinations due to halted vehicle movement will receive discounted accommodation in all categories of hotels across the district.

The CDO added that the Hotel Association Chitwan and the District Police Office will jointly monitor the implementation of the decision to ensure stranded travellers are assisted effectively.

Loknath Bhatt, President of the Hotel Entrepreneurs’ Association, Chitwan, said stranded travellers can contact 9855014180 for help. He noted that, depending on individual circumstances, some travellers may also be accommodated free of cost.

Subas Chandra Gautam, Vice-President of the Regional Hotel Association Sauraha, said his private hotel has been providing free accommodation to 40 stranded travellers, while others will receive a 75 percent discount as directed by the administration.

Travellers stranded in Mugling, Narayangadh, Bharatpur, Tandi, Parsa and other parts of Chitwan can coordinate with local police to access the discounted hotel facilities.
