Praveen Raman Parajuli Elected President of Life Insurance Association of Nepal

Praveen Raman Parajuli, Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Life Insurance Company, has been unanimously elected as the new President of the Life Insurance Association of Nepal. The decision was made during the association’s sixth annual general meeting, held in Kathmandu on September 14.

The newly formed executive committee, constituted in line with the association’s statute, includes Prakash Bikram Khatri of Suryajyoti Life as Vice-Chairman, Narayan Lohani of Reliable Nepal as Secretary, and Dinesh Lal Shrestha of Asian Life as Treasurer. Similarly, Manoj Lal Karna of Himalayan Life, Sundar Panthi of Rastriya Beema Sansthan, and Pranay Kumar of LIC Nepal have been appointed as members.

In its commitment to advancing Nepal’s insurance sector, the committee outlined key priorities such as promoting insurance literacy, building institutional capacity, safeguarding the rights of life insurance employees, and extending insurance services to underserved communities. It also pledged to introduce welfare programs for policyholders and to play an active role in shaping industry-friendly policies.

The AGM was attended by representatives of various insurance companies and association members. Discussions centered on pressing challenges and emerging opportunities in Nepal’s life insurance industry, with a strong emphasis on fostering growth and strengthening public trust.
