The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has called on the government and all stakeholders to protect the country’s investment climate and ensure business security.

FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal made the appeal after inspecting facilities of Ncell and Chaudhary Group’s CG Park and Chandragiri Hills, which were damaged by arson and vandalism during the September 8–9 “Gen-Z” protests.

Dhakal warned that such incidents are undermining investor confidence and disrupting production and employment. “I urge the government, political parties, and stakeholders to create an investment-friendly environment and ensure security in the country,” he said.

He noted that the private sector contributes more than 81 percent to Nepal’s GDP and provides over 86 percent of employment, underscoring the need to protect industrialists and entrepreneurs.

The FNCCI earlier raised the issue with the Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal and Finance Minister Rameshore Khanal, citing growing concerns among investors and business owners over their safety. -- RSS
