11:53 am Set as Auspicious Time for Dashain Tika

The Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee has fixed the auspicious time for receiving tika and blessings on this year's Bijaya Dashami festival.

Announcing the decision, the committee chairperson Prof Shambhu Prasad Dhakal told RSS that the most auspicious time for tika during the Dashain festival this year is 11:53 am on October 2.

This year's Dashain festival is begins from September 22 with Ghatasthapana. The auspicious time for Ghatasthapana, the first day of Dashain festival is 9:30 am on September 22.    

A press release issued by the committee on Tuesday mentions that Phulpati falls on September 29, Mahaastami on September 30 and Mahanawami on October 1.    

Similarly, Kojagrat purnima, the final day of the Dashain festival, falls on October 6.

Dashain, Nepal’s biggest Hindu festival, symbolizes the victory of good over evil and unites families across the country in celebration. -- RSS
