The Supreme Court has announced it will resume regular hearings and the registration of habeas corpus writ petitions from Sunday, September 14.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the court Thursday.
On Tuesday, protesters carried out arson, stone-pelting, vandalism, and looting at the Supreme Court and other courts nationwide, causing extensive damage to buildings, equipment, vehicles, and historical judicial records.
“The loss is unimaginable,” Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut said.
