Flight operations at Tribhuvan International Airport will resume after remaining suspended since Tuesday afternoon, the TIA Office announced in a notice issued at 3:30 PM Wednesday. The shutdown was caused by thick smoke from fires set by protesters that blanketed the Kathmandu Valley skies.
The decision to reopen followed a meeting of the Security Committee. Passengers have been advised to confirm flight schedules with their respective airlines before heading to the airport and to carry both flight tickets and valid identification.
Earlier in the day, the airport office had stated that the facility would remain closed indefinitely amid security lockdowns in the Valley.
Meanwhile, Buddha Air has announced it will resume operations from Thursday morning.
