The Nepali Army has appealed for the immediate return of arms and ammunition looted from security agencies during the Gen Z-led movement on Tuesday.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Army urged those in possession of looted weapons, ammunition, or security paraphernalia to return them without delay.
The Army warned that misuse of such weapons could endanger lives and property. It further cautioned that anyone found in unauthorized possession of arms and ammunition would face legal action. Similarly, the Army urged the public not to wear or use security uniforms without authorization, particularly during this sensitive period.
Security forces have so far recovered 31 weapons — 23 from various locations in Kathmandu and eight from Pokhara — along with magazines and ammunition packets during operations from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.
Army Pledges Support to Stranded Foreigners
The Nepali Army has also pledged for coordinated support to foreign nationals stranded in Nepal amid the ongoing unrest.
In a separate notice issued Wednesday, the Army requested hotels, tourism entrepreneurs, and related organizations to facilitate rescue and assistance efforts.
Stranded foreigners requiring rescue or any form of help have been advised to contact the nearest security agency or on-duty security personnel for immediate support, reads the statement.
