Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced the suspension of several international flights scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, after Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) extended its closure via a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM).
The national flag carrier said operations will remain halted until at least 12:00 noon Wednesday, pending further updates from TIA authorities.
Affected flights include: RA401/402 (Kathmandu–Bangkok–Kathmandu), RA201/202 (Kathmandu–Mumbai–Kathmandu) and RA217/218 (Kathmandu–Delhi–Kathmandu).
NAC stated that passengers may reschedule flights free of charge or claim refunds. The airline also pledged to provide timely notifications once operations resume.
“We understand the inconvenience this may cause. We are committed to keeping our passengers informed and will provide sufficient notice before services are reinstated,” the corporation said in a statement.
Passengers have been advised to contact Nepal Airlines’ sales offices, ticketing agents, or airport staff for further assistance.
Buddha Air and other domestic carriers have similarly announced that flights will not operate until at least 12:00 noon.
TIA has remained closed since Tuesday afternoon due to escalating unrest in Kathmandu and other parts of the country, with smoke from arson and clashes raising air safety concerns.
