PM Oli Resigns Amid Nationwide Protests

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stepped down as nationwide demonstrations escalated following Monday’s brutal crackdown on youth protesting against corruption and the social media ban.

Protesters, openly defying curfews and prohibitory orders issued by district administrations, have set fire to government buildings and the properties of political parties—particularly those linked to Oli’s CPN-UML.

The resignation comes just hours after Oli had called for an all-party meeting scheduled for 6 PM Tuesday in an attempt to address the escalating unrest.
