Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has formally rolled out its content monetization programme in Nepal, opening a new avenue for local creators to earn income through the platform.
The company confirmed the launch to Nepali users via email, making the service officially available in the country. With this, Nepali content creators can now directly link their local bank accounts and receive payouts.
Content creator Rajendra Aryal, who contacted the Meta team, said the company had confirmed the official start of the programme in Nepal. “For the past few days, there’s been a lot of curiosity. I’ve now received official confirmation of Facebook monetization payouts. The update allows Nepali bank accounts to be set up, and some creators have already started receiving payments,” Aryal said. “With the new policy, creators in Nepal can confidently link their bank accounts and earn.”
Under the new system, eligible creators can select “Nepal” when setting up their payout accounts and add local banking details to receive payments directly.
Although some Nepali creators had previously managed to receive payments through indirect methods, Meta’s official rollout makes the process simpler and more secure.
Until recently, Facebook had been paying creators through three programs – In-Stream Ads, Ads on Reels, and Performance Bonus. However, as of August 31, Meta has permanently discontinued In-Stream Ads and Ads on Reels, integrating them under a new unified structure called Facebook Content Monetization.
With the official launch in Nepal, creators now have access to this global programme, providing a more reliable framework for digital income opportunities in the country.
