The NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025, organized by the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), concluded on Monday, August 11.

The six-day event, which began on August 6, attracted more than 100,000 visitors, according to NAIMA.

Initially planned as a five-day exhibition, the event was extended by one day due to higher-than-expected turnout. NAIMA said the extension was necessary to accommodate the surge in visitors and meet the demand within the limited timeframe.

Business representatives hailed the expo as a success, reporting bookings for more than 3,000 four-wheelers and two-wheelers combined.

According to Aasutosh Gautam, National Sales and Business Development Head at Cimex Inc, the authorised distributor of BYD vehicles in Nepal, 1,004 BYD units were booked, with nearly two-thirds of them for the BYD ATTO-1 alone.

While NAIMA has yet to release official booking figures, distributors of several other brands also reported strong sales interest during the event. A total of 367 units of Omoda and Jaecoo and 268 units of Leapmotor were also booked.

The expo featured 48 stalls representing 50 brands, with participation from all NAIMA members. Over 35 new vehicle models were launched during the event.

Visitors included government and non-government employees, local representatives, industrial sector figures, media professionals, businesspeople, senior automobile sector personalities, diplomatic officials and members of the public.

NAIMA said the exhibition recorded 15,000 visitors on the first day, 13,500 on the second, 19,500 on the third, 21,500 on the fourth, 22,000 on the fifth and 7,800 on the sixth.

NAIMA President Ritu Singh Vaidya said the event exceeded expectations.

“These past six days have been truly remarkable. You have truly made this Nepal’s largest auto expo. With over 100,000 visitors, sales at every stall, excellent participation in mobility-related panel discussions, and the energy, ideas, collaboration and enthusiasm each of you has shown, I feel NAIMA has ushered in a new era of development in Nepal’s mobility sector,” Vaidya said at the closing ceremony.
