Finance Ministry Directs All Public Bodies to Adopt e-Payment System from July 17

The Ministry of Finance has directed all government entities to make payments exclusively through electronic systems starting from the new fiscal year, 2025/26, which begins on July 17.

In a circular issued Sunday, July 13, the ministry instructed all ministries, Nepal Rastra Bank, public institutions, boards, committees, and other government bodies to fully implement the e-payment system.

The directive comes in response to delays by some public bodies in adopting electronic payment methods, the circular added.

A similar provision was announced earlier in the budget for fiscal year 2025/26.
