The total wealth of former Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari have increased by more than Rs 6.2 million, according to a property disclosure published by NRB. The rise is mainly attributed to an increase in his cash balance, including investments in mutual funds and securities. The value of his gold and silver holdings has also gone up compared to his previous declaration in April 2019.
During this period, the value of his house and land remained unchanged. However, his bank balance and provident fund rose from Rs 1.39 million to Rs 2.84 million, while the total amount in his bank account reached Rs 10.85 million.
His combined cash, gold, and silver holdings increased from Rs 503,000 to Rs 988,000. Similarly, his investments in mutual funds and securities grew from Rs 15.7 million to Rs 18.9 million. Notably, his net receivables, which previously stood at Rs 62,400, have now turned negative. There has also been a modest increase in other miscellaneous assets.
Overall, Adhikari’s total assets rose from Rs 34.59 million in April 2019 to Rs 36.94 million as of April 4, 2025. In addition, he holds a balance of US$28,608 in his bank account.
