The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index surged for the fourth straight day on Wednesday, January 22, advancing by 2 percent, or 52.36 points, to close at 2,665.45, following the previous day's 5.08-point rise.
It had surged by 12.58 points and 6.78 points on Sunday and Monday, respectively.
Likewise, the daily turnover also saw a notable surge on the fourth trading day of the week, surpassing Rs 9.20 billion—compared to over Rs 6.19 billion on Tuesday.
A total of 17,692,819 shares were traded across 90,696 transactions on Wednesday.
All major indices ended the day in green: The Sensitive Index rose by 1.96 percent, while both the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index advanced by 1.82 percent.
Corporate Development Bank Limited (CORBL) and Dolti Power Company Limited (DOLTI) were among the top gainers, both hitting the upper circuit limit.
On the other hand, Barahi Hydropower Public Limited (BHPL) saw the largest loss, with its share price falling 8.21 percent.
In terms of turnover, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) led the pack, followed by Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) and Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL).
All 13 NEPSE sub-indices posted gains. The Others Index saw the highest increase, rising 4.24 percent, while the Manufacturing and Processing Index registered the smallest gain of 0.08 percent.
