Partial Rain Expected During Dashain in Three Provinces

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology's Weather Forecasting Division has issued its special Dashain weather bulletin.

According to the bulletin, hill areas in Bagmati, Koshi, Madhes, and Gandaki provinces will experience partial to normal rain during Saptami (October 10), Ashtami/Navami (October 11), and Dashami (October 12) of this year’s Dashain.

Light to moderate rain, along with thunder and lightning, is also likely in a few places across Koshi and Madhes provinces, and in one or two locations in the hill areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. The weather will remain mostly clear in the rest of the provinces.

Meanwhile, the monsoon has already withdrawn from Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, and the Kathmandu Valley as of Tuesday. It has also retreated from the western parts of Bagmati and some areas in the western region of Madhes.

Currently, monsoon air still influences eastern Madhes, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces, according to the division. -- RSS
