Nepal's Economy is Improving: IMF Official

IMF’s Deputy Director for the Asia-Pacific Region made the remark during a courtesy meeting with Finance Minister Paudel on Sunday

Rupa Duttagupta, IMF’s Deputy Director for the Asia-Pacific Region said on Sunday that Nepal's economy has shown signs of improvement.

Duttagupta made the remark during her courtesy meeting with Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel at the Ministry of Finance.

She noted key reforms in investment facilitation laws, the execution of a revenue mobilisation strategy, and the implementation of IMF’s recommendations, according to a statement from Minister Paudel's Secretariat.

In response, Minister Paudel mentioned that the government has been working with a plan to strengthen the economy.
