Sherpa Hospitality Group (SHG), a subsidiary of the Yeti Group, marked the first anniversary of Shinta Mani Mustang, a luxury hotel brand curated by the acclaimed designer Bill Bensley, on Friday. On the occasion, SHG also announced new ventures.
Issuing a statement, the hospitality group announced its plans to launch a new mountain lodge in Manang and to upgrade its luxury hotel in Kasara, Chitwan.
The group claimed that Shinta Mani Mustang has quickly established itself as a premier luxury destination, earning international acclaim. Within its first year, the resort has been featured in renowned publications such as Condé Nast, Forbes, National Geographic, and Travel + Leisure, positioning Nepal’s Mustang region as a top destination for luxury adventure, the statement added.
Reflecting on the resort’s success, Namgyal Sherpa, CEO of Sherpa Hospitality Group, said, "Our partnership with Shinta Mani, a distinguished luxury brand, was a strategic decision. We already had the property in Mustang and were seeking the right franchise partner. Shinta Mani was the perfect choice, allowing us to deliver a world-class luxury experience in this remarkable region."
At the same event, SHG introduced the latest addition to its Mountain Lodges of Nepal (MLN) brand in Manang. This new property joins a collection of 14 premium lodges that offer unique trekking experiences along the Great Himalayan Trails.
SHG said its journey spans over two decades, formally taking off during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. However, the groundwork was laid much earlier by Lakpa Sonam Sherpa and his late brother Ang Tshering Sherpa, who recognised the need for quality accommodations in Lukla. Despite the risks, they invested in a lodge that many saw as a bold move, prioritising the development of Nepal's remote yet beautiful regions.
"Our mission is to redefine high-end tourism along Nepal’s Great Himalayan Trails, providing meaningful journeys that also support local communities," added Sherpa.
Additionally, SHG announced significant upgrades to Kasara Chitwan, another of its premier properties. These enhancements aim to elevate its luxury offerings, with guests anticipating new amenities, improved facilities, and enhanced services to provide an exceptional experience in the heart of Chitwan National Park.
These upgrades highlight Sherpa Hospitality Group’s commitment to continuous improvement and guest satisfaction, Sherpa further noted.
Sherpa Hospitality Group manages and operates a collection of 18 family-owned premium lodges and resorts, including Shinta Mani Mustang, Mountain Lodges of Nepal, Kasara Chitwan, and Hokke Lumbini, strategically located along Nepal’s Great Himalayan Trails and throughout its diverse landscapes.
