At Least 195 Killed in Monsoon-Induced Disasters Across the Country

At least 195 people have been killed so far across the country in monsoon-induced disasters such as floods and landslides this year.

At least 56 in Gandaki Province, 37 in Lumbini, 36 in Bagmati, 27 in Koshi, 15 in Sudurpaschim, 13 in Karnali, eight in Madhes and three people in the Kathmandu Valley died in natural disasters since the onset of monsoon on June 10, according to SSP Dan Bahadur Karki, spokesperson of Nepal Police.

Similarly, 41 in Bagmati Province, two each in Koshi and Gandaki, and one each in Madhes, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces have been injured in the disasters.

As many as 342 houses, 121 sheds, 51 bridges, six schools and two government offices were damaged in natural disasters, killing 909 livestocks and displacing 5,883 households, according to Karki.
