KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a rise on Wednesday, closing at 2,957.75 points, up by 34.29 points or 1.17% from the previous day.
During today’s trading session, 332 different stocks were traded via 244,019 transactions on the NEPSE. A total of 51,230,340 shares were exchanged, resulting in a turnover of over Rs 23 billion.
Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) led in turnover, with a total transaction worth Rs 865.86 million.
Nine companies saw their share prices rise by 10%.
Central Finance Co. Ltd. (CFCL), Samriddhi Finance Company Limited (SFCL), Progressive Finance Limited (PROFL), Matribhumi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MATRI), and Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Ltd (HIDCL) were the top performers.
In contrast, Mandakini Hydropower Limited (MHL) experienced the biggest drop, with its price falling by 10%.
The Sensitive Index increased by 1.63 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index rose by 1.28% and 1.56%, respectively.
In terms of sector performance, 10 of the 13 indices closed in green. The Finance Index recorded the highest gain of 7.67%, while that of the Mutual Fund declined by 0.9%.
