One More Plant For Rio Juice

Chaudhary Group is expanding its soft drink production capacity by adding a new plant. After the installation of the new plant, the Rio brand juice will be available in guava flavour as well, according to Gyanendra Kharel, the Co-Manager of marketing department. The company also plans to introduce canned juice in the near future.

The company currently produces 700,000 cartons of juice annually. There are 14 distributors in Kathmandu Valley alone. Kharel said that due to severe power cuts, the company is unable to produce enough quantity to meet the market demand. He said, “Unavailability of raw materials is also a reason behind inadequate production.” Fruit pulp, sugar, water, citric acid and other ingredients are used to produce juice. Currently, the raw materials are imported from India.
