After close circuit televisions (CCTV) and e-billing systems were installed in transport management offices, they are running without office chiefs as government employees are reluctant to be posted there. A high ranking official at the Ministry of Labour and Transport Management said they are reluctant as it is now impossible to accept bribes. “Before the current system came into practice, there used to be competition for posting at these offices,†the source added.

The ministry source also says that deployment of office chiefs is being delayed also inthose offices where the CCTV and e-billing system are not deployed. For this the source blames political intervention.

Currently, Bagmati and Gandaki zonal transport management offices have such equipment installed. The ministry informed that installation of these equipments in other offices too is in the process.
