The world's largest PC maker Lenovo has stepped into the smartphone market to expand its empire. And it has taken some big steps indeed. Lenovo K900 and P780 can be righteously termed as 'big steps' in terms of their sheer power they unleash.

Forget the routine power cuts. Lenovo's another high-end smartphone- P780- gives you enough battery backup that can last for days. P780 can be truly crowned as the 'king of the ring' in terms of power backup as it carries a battery of whopping 4000 mAh capacity. Once fully charged the phone is likely to run for three days in the long mode and 30 hours in the custom mode. Apart from this P780's hardware specs are pretty impressive. The phone which runs on Android 4.2.2 is powered by Mediatek MT 6589 Quad-core 1.2 Ghz Cortex A-7 processor and PowerVR SGX544 GPU. Though, on a less positive note, P780 has 1 GB RAM system memory. However, it is unlikely to affect the phone's overall performance as the powerful processor and GPU can easily handle major processing and multitasking operations. P780 is 5 inch phone with five fingers multitouch HD IPS LCD display (720 X 1280 pixels, 294 ppi pixel density). The phone houses an autofocus LED flash 8 MP primary snapper which can decently capture photos of 3264 x 2448 pixels. Meanwhile, a 1.2 MP secondary camera sits at the upper end of the front panel. The phone weighs 176 grams and has metallic body. P780's internal storage is 8 GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB via a microSD card. The phone is priced Rs 36,900 in the Nepali market.

K900
If you are looking for a power and feature packed phablet to cater almost all of your daily computing needs, Lenovo K900 is the perfect gadget. Powered by Intel Atom Z2580 dual-core processor clocked at 2.0 Ghz and 2GB RAM, K900 smoothly runs several applications at once. Similarly, K900's PowerVR SGX544 GPU has the graphical prowess to handle any power hungry games without a hitch. The phablet's display is also another notable feature. With Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection, K900 comes with a 10 fingers multitouch 5.5 inch full HD IPS LCD capacitive display which has resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density). Despite the massive size, K900 does not looks or feels bulky because of its light weight (162 grams). The phone which is available in black, orange and grey colours looks classy with its brushed aluminum back panel and a very thin bezel.

K900's camera is also worth mentioning. The phablet houses a 13 megapixel primary and a 2 MP secondary camera. The dual-LED flash primary camera with autofocus can shoot crisp and vibrantly coloured photos of resolution 4128 x 3096 pixels. Likewise, users are able to capture 1080p HD videos @30 fps. The camera which has 4x digital zoom comes with features such as Geo-tagging, touch focus and face detection. The K900 runs on a customised version of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2, which offers a unique navigate option. While swiping from one page of apps to another, the user interface (UI) does a swivelling barrel effect. Another feature of the UI is the 'Endurance' widget which instantly shows the power usage and estimates how long the battery backup is going to last. Similarly, the on-screen short cut of the widget instantaneously closes any software running on the background, further prolonging the time between recharges.

The micro-sim phablet's non-removable 2500 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery gives descent backup (stand-by time : up to 300 hrs in both 2G and 3G/ talk time : up to 15 hrs in 2G and 12 hrs in 3G). K900 is packed with almost all kind of sensors including accelerometer, gravity censor (compass), proximity and light sensor along with an A-GPS. The phablet has Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, WLAN (Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Wi-Fi hotspot), USB 2.0, USB-on-the-go and a FM radio. K900 comes in two different versions according to storage capacity- 16 GB and 32 GB. Horizon Enterprises Pvt Ltd, the official distributor of Lenovo smartphone in Nepal has priced the 16 GB K900 at Rs 52,900. While the 32 GB variant of the phablet carries a price tag of Rs 56,900.
