Arun Chaudhary Remanded in Custody for Two More Days in Bansbari Land Grab Scam

February 6: The District Court, Kathmandu on Monday extended the custody of businessperson Arun Chaudhary and two others by two more days in connection with the embezzlement of land belonging to the Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory.    
It may be noted that the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police had arrested the trio on February 1 on the charge of illegally acquiring 10 ropanis of land belonging to the Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory.    
Chandra Prasad Panthi, information officer at the District Court, Kathmandu, told RSS that District Court Judge Yagya Prasad Acharya granted two-day police remand for the three accused.

"The court has granted permission to extend the remand in custody for accused businessperson Arun Chaudhary, erstwhile Executive Chairperson of Bansbari Shoe Factory, Ajit Narayan Singh Thapa and proprietor of CG Chandbag Residency, Sanjay Thakur," he said. -- RSS
