July 24: Tatopani Customs Office collected Rs 3.42 billion revenue in the last fiscal year 2021/22. The revenue collection was double than the target set by the office.
Chief Customs Officer of Tatopani Customs Office, Narad Gautam, said revenue collection increased by two folds in the last fiscal year despite various problems including coronavirus pandemic, landslide, flood and decline in import of Chinese goods.
The office collected Rs 3.42 billion revenue against the target of Rs 1.46 billion, he shared. Gautam further said that revenue collection was better than the expectation due to various reasons including import of goods, adherence to health safety protocols and training to businessmen.
In FY 2020/21, the office had set a target to collect Rs 4.50 billion but only Rs 1.02 billion was collected. Gautam added that a target has been set to collect Rs 4.63 billion in the current fiscal year.
