The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 27.41 points on Monday, October 28, to close at 2,645.36 points after declining for three consecutive trading days.
The index had declined by 9.19 points the day before, the first trading day of the week.
Last week, it closed in the red on four out of five trading days.
Along with the index, daily turnover also rose on this week’s second trading day, amounting to around Rs 5.34 billion, compared to Rs 4.73 billion on the previous trading day.
Monday’s trading session saw more than 10 million shares, traded through 58,552 transactions.
The Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float indices also ended in the green, rising by 0.66 percent, 1.07 percent, and 0.71 percent, respectively.
Janaki Finance Company Limited (JFL) and Dolti Power Company Limited (DOLTI) were the top gainers of the day, with their share prices hitting the upper circuit limit, followed by River Falls Power Limited (RFPL), which posted a 9.54 percent gain.
Conversely, Peoples Hydropower Company Limited (PHCL) was the biggest loser, with its share price dropping by 6.02 percent.
On the turnover front, Nepal Finance Ltd. (NFS) led the market, followed by Samriddhi Finance Company Limited (SFCL).
All the 13 NEPSE sub-indices ended in the green, with the Finance Index rising the most by 3.46 percent.
