The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 0.06% (1.86 points) on Wednesday, February 12, closing at 2,685.73 points. This followed a 0.24% gain on the previous trading day, after the index had experienced five consecutive days of decline.
Trading activity improved on the fourth trading day of the week, with daily turnover surpassing Rs 8.71 billion, up from over Rs 7.24 billion the previous day.
A total of 15,520,559 shares changed hands in 82,850 transactions.
All NEPSE’s major indices ended the day in green. The Sensitive Index rose by 0.05 %, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index gained 0.14 % and 0.16 %, respectively.
Guardian Micro Life Insurance Limited (GMLI) became the top gainer with its share price increasing by 9.99 percent.
On the other hand, Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ULBSL) and Super Madi Hydropower Limited (SMHL) led the losers, hitting the lower circuit limit.
NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) led the market in turnover, followed by CEDB Holdings Limited (CHDC) and River Falls Power Limited (RFPL).
Out of NEPSE’s 13 sub-indices, only four ended in the green, with the Finance Index leading the gains at 1.56 %. The Trading Index recorded the steepest loss, slipping 0.91%.
