The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a decline of 9.19 points on Sunday, October 27, to close at 2,617.95 points. This marks the decline for the third consecutive trading day.
Last week, the index closed in the red on four out of five trading days. It gained 25.88 points on Tuesday, the last trading day.
Along with the index, daily turnover also dropped on this week’s first trading day. It amounted to around Rs 4.73 billion, compared to Rs 5.27 billion on the previous trading day. The highest turnover recorded last week was Rs 8.18 billion on Sunday.
More than 11 million shares were traded on Sunday, October 27, through 56,646 transactions. The Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float indices closed in the red, declining by 0.93 percent, 0.42 percent, and 0.97 percent, respectively.
Life Insurance Corporation (Nepal) Limited (LICN), River Falls Power Limited (RFPL), and Mai Khola Hydropower Limited (MKHL) were the top gainers of the day, with their share prices hitting the upper circuit limit, closely followed by Samriddhi Finance Company Limited (SFCL), which posted a 9.99 percent gain.
Conversely, Nepal SBI Bank Limited (SBI) was the biggest loser, with its share price dropping by 6.79 percent.
On the turnover front, ICFC Finance Limited (ICFC) led the market, followed by Nepal SBI Bank Limited (SBI).

Of the 13 sub-indices, only five recorded gains, with the Finance Index rising by 1.11 percent. The Banking Sub-Index, however, experienced the largest decline, falling by 1.30 percent.
