Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has resumed regular domestic flights with both of its Twin Otter aircraft after engine replacement.
These planes had been grounded for an extended period, causing inconvenience to passengers in remote areas. NAC confirmed that the planes have undergone engine replacements and maintenance in line with the standards set by regulatory authorities and the aircraft manufacturer.
NAC Spokesperson Subas Dangi said that the two aircraft, with call signs 9N-ABT and 9N-ABU, are now fully operational. He confirmed that both aircraft have been fitted with new engines and passed all necessary regulatory tests.
The Twin Otters officially resumed scheduled flights on Monday, May 12. According to NAC, the reintroduction of these aircraft is expected to provide affordable and accessible air travel, especially for passengers in remote areas.
Dangi noted that each aircraft is now conducting at least four flights per day and added that domestic operations are expected to become more effective following the resumption of these services. -- RSS
