The Investment Board Nepal (IBN) has approved investments in several hydropower projects.
The 60th meeting of the board, held at Singha Durbar on Thursday, November 28, decided to approve investments of Rs 70 billion in the 341 MW Budhi Gandaki, Rs 23.59 billion in the 106 MW Jagadulla Semi-Reservoir and Rs 47.54 billion in the 210 MW Chainpur Seti hydropower projects, reported RSS, the state-owned news agency.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli chaired the meeting.
The meeting also extended the term for the 327 MW Upper Marsyangdi project and Samrat Company Pvt. Ltd. The board has also decided to upgrade the capacity of the West Seti Project to 800 MW from 750 MW.
Urged relevant bodies to work in coordination to create an investment-friendly environment environment, the prime informed that the draft of the board's strategic and professional plan has been prepared, and discussions with stakeholders are ongoing
