The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel advisory urging Nepali nationals to exercise caution in view of escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry advised Nepali citizens planning to travel to Israel, Iran, or other Middle Eastern countries for visits or foreign employment to reconsider or postpone their travel plans while the volatile situation persists.
The advisory specifically urged Nepali citizens to avoid travel to Israel and Iran altogether until the current conflict subsides. It also recommended that those intending to travel to other countries in the region delay their plans as a precautionary measure.
The government said it is closely monitoring developments in the region and that Nepali citizens currently residing there remain safe so far. The ministry assured that it will take necessary steps to safeguard the interests of Nepali nationals.
Given the closure of air routes in Israel and Iran, the ministry also informed that Nepali citizens wishing to return to Nepal voluntarily may need to obtain a transit visa via a third country. The government said it will facilitate this process as required.
Nepali nationals residing in Israel and Iran have been advised to exercise caution, remain indoors except for essential purposes, and adhere to safety guidelines issued by local authorities.
The ministry further urged Nepali citizens to stay in close contact with the Nepali embassies, follow updates and advisories from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and register their details online through links provided on the websites of the ministry, the Department of Consular Services, and respective embassies in case of emergencies.
