Kavya Resort & Spa, possibly the youngest resort in Nagarkot, assimilates exquisiteness, class and luxury through its charming ambience and sublime views. Kavya, which opened its doors to visitors on July 16, 2022, is an ideal vacation destination surrounded by serene and lush pine forests and pristine mountains. Offering a blend of Nepali tradition with modern sophistication, the resort is tucked in the popular hill station near the capital city. The resort premises offers guests breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks from a close angle and a relaxing experience with beaming sunrise on freezing mornings.

Since its inception, Kavya Resorts & Spa has been attracting guests promising a unique experience which enables them to unwind in the natural environment, Sangay Tenzing Lama, director of sales and marketing of Kavya Resort & Sherpa, shared with New Business Age. The 5-star deluxe resort is a joint venture of Nepal Investment Bank Ltd Chairman Prithvi Bahadur Pandey, Vishal Group, and Diwakar Golcha Corp. It was built with an investment of Rs 3 billion.

Spread over 1.95 acres, Kavya Resort & Spa has 18 villas including a suite. It offers three categories of room space to customers - a junior suite, one-bedroom villas, and two-bedroom villas. The resort has categorised the one-bedroom villa into two segments - one-bedroom villa and one-room deluxe villa. Similarly, the two-room villa offers rooms in two-bedroom villas and two-bedroom deluxe villas categories.

“Though we have an operating capacity of 24 villas with 33 keys, 18 villas with 24 keys are currently in operation,” added Lama. However, we have an operating capacity of 24 villas with 33 keys, shares Lama. Nestled in the profuse jungle, the Junior Suite is a 2,504 sq ft villa with a poetically landscaped front yard connecting the driveway via cascading steps. This two-bedroom villa is a romantic pad designed to give guests a moment of tranquillity. It is a beautifully-adorned living floor for the guest that boasts of a beautiful brass fireplace and a well-appointed patio overlooking the mesmerising Himalayas.

Likewise, the One-Bedroom Villa is a chic and eclectic 1,545 sq ft space. It is an expansive living room space on the entry level with wall-to-wall windows perfectly capturing the views of the majestic mountains. At the same time, the romantic bedroom on the upper level is adorned with opulence and splendour. Be it the bespoke furnishings, tastefully done floorings and ceilings, or the lux bedroom ambience, guests wouldn’t want to leave any of it behind. The bedroom further opens to a large open-air hot tub and a private cabana, according to Lama.

The Two-Bedroom Villa, on the other hand, is laid out on vast land, affording an uninterrupted view of the hotel’s magnificent landscaped garden. The shrubbery and the perfectly manicured lawns offer a splendid view of the majestic Himalayan backdrop. Adorned by elegant design elements and contemporary craftsmanship, this two-bedroom studio villa has everything that guests look for, said Lama. Lama also shared that Kavya Resort & Spa is best set for a celestial holiday with a sunrise that brings a glimpse of paradise and nights with stars shining down from the heavens.

The 5-star deluxe resort aims at catering both high-end Nepali and foreign tourists, offering a very high-class hospitality experience. Likewise, it is open to catering private and high-profile corporate events. “Be it a board meeting, strategy summit, conference, corporate party, team outing or a personal occasion like a birthday, anniversary or intimate wedding, we have an ideal venue just for you,” Lama added.

The resort is an ideal place for board meetings, strategic submissions, parties, and weddings providing the essence of luxury and personalisation. Designed by US-based architectural design company ‘Map’ (Mathema & Partners), the outer look of this resort is one of the best in Nagarkot. Likewise, the interior design of this resort, which is a new style in Nepal, is equally premium.

For dining, the resort has whipped up a whole range of menus, so that guests during their stay can take a gastronomic journey to any corner of the world. “The wide array of food and drink options will leave our guests enthralled. We are serving various cuisines - from Italian to Pan-Asian, the Mediterranean, mountain, and typical Nepali and Newari,” Lama said, adding: “While serving food, we ensure it is the best and authentic, and that there is always something extraordinary for everyone.”

Guests at Kavya can start their day with a delectable yet nutrient-dense morning meal that includes cold-pressed juices, a variety of bread, organic honey, egg, home-style jams and marmalades, freshly-cut fruits and parathas (stuffed flatbread). “We invite our guests to take a break from their daytime vacation rituals and treat themselves well with deliberately light, refreshing dishes and drinks that not just pump in some much-needed calories for those delightful hikes and trails but also fill up their senses with aromatic charisma. All this with abundant hospitality innate to Nepali culture,” Lama added.

Besides, the resort incorporates various activities for its guests to have a pleasant and memorable stay. Guests can enjoy wellness by practising yoga and meditation in nature. Likewise, they can enjoy the mesmerising sunrise and enjoy adventurous and picturesque hiking trails to observe panoramic views of eight different ranges of the Himalayas, namely Everest, Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Langtang, Numbur, Jugal, and Rolwaling Himal.

Likewise, a mountain biking tour can be one of the best ways to explore the Nagarkot hill station. “It caters to all the needs one is looking for to get out of city life and indulge in nature’s beauty,” Lama shared with New Business Age. According to Lama, the resort will soon start a luxury destination spa and TEVANA SPA to add extra wellness for its guests.

Kavya is currently offering two packages - Experience Kavya - a 2 nights/3 days package for $666 net and Art of Mindfulness - a 3 nights/4 days package for $888 net. Experience Kavya package includes a welcome drink upon arrival, two nights’ accommodation in Kavya's Deluxe Villa, breakfast and dinner for two, and a guided walk to view the tower. Likewise, the Art of Mindfulness Package includes a welcome drink upon arrival, three nights’ accommodation in Kavya's Deluxe Villa, a healthy daily breakfast, yoga sessions guided by experts, a massage workshop for two persons and a downhill trek to Nala city (Oldest Hindu Temple).

The promoters of the resort had initially planned to collaborate with foreign chains for the management resort. However, it didn’t materialise due to factors like the earthquake, blockade and the Covid-19 pandemic. This resort is currently managed by Chaya Group of Thamel. During the next phase of expansion, the resort will have various infrastructures, including the spa, according to Lama.
