Maximum Temperature of Kathmandu likely to Reach 33 Degrees Celsius Today   

KATHMANDU: The weather currently is partly to mostly cloudy in the hill areas of Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces, and mostly clear in the rest of the country. This is due to the partial effects of the local winds, the westerly winds as well as the low pressure system around Bihar in India, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.    

The department added that the maximum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley today is expected to be between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday, the temperature was 28.5 degrees Celsius and increased to 33.3 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. 

The department has issued warning of excessive heat in the Terai districts for a few days and has urged the people to adopt precautionary measures. The department has suggested people to stay indoors, take plenty of liquid, wear light clothes and consult the nearest medical facility in case of health problems due to excessive heat.  
Later this afternoon, there is a possibility of light rain with thunder and lightning in some places of Koshi Province.    
Tonight, the weather will remain partly to mostly cloudy in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and clear in the remaining parts of the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and one or two places in the hill regions of Lumbini.    
In the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in some places of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and one or two places in the hill areas of Lumbini Province. -- RSS
