Oriental Insurance Provides Financial Support of Rs 2 Million to Quake Victims and School Students

March 12: Kathmandu-based office of Oriental Insurance Co Ltd has provided financial support of Rs 2 million quake victims and school students under its Corporate Social Responsibility.

Issuing a recent statement, the company said it provided Rs 1 million to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund to support the Jajarkot earthquake victims and Rs 1 million to Samata Educational Foundation for school students.

RR Singh, the chairman and managing director of the insurance company with its head office in New Delhi, India along with General Manager Rekha Mohanty Thakur and CEO of its Nepal Office T Chakraborty handed over cheques to the PM Relief Fund as well as Samata Education Trust during a recent visit to Nepal.

During the visit, Singh launched a new insurance policy "Oriental Youth Eco Care policy" in Nepal which is now available in the market for Nepalese citizens between the ages of 18 to 45 years.

Oriental Insurance Co Ltd. has been actively operating in Nepal since the year 2024 BS, functioning as a branch office of an Indian company under the auspices of the Government of India.

The company claimed that it provides insurance coverage for property, motor, marine, engineering, personal accident, health insurance, industries, factories, construction of bridges, including hydropower projects, according to customer’s needs in addition to re-Insurance support to local insurance companies of Nepal.
