NEPSE Reports Uptick of 15.33 Points to Close at 2101.16

February 12: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index witnessed a gain of 15.33 points or 0.73%, closing at 2101.16 on the second trading day of the week, Monday.

Seasoned investors and technical analysts say that the market will continue its upward trend due to falling banking interest rates and positive psychology among investors. “There is excessive liquidity in the banking system. Thus, the stock market will likely catch the bullish trend soon,” one investor said.

During today’s trading session, a total of 314 scrips were traded on the NEPSE through 75,105 transactions. As many as 10,108,122 shares changed hands, resulting in a total turnover of Rs 3.58 billion. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) led the turnover amount with a total transaction of Rs 23 crores.

Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited (BNL) and Samaj Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (SAMAJ) each gained 10% and hit the positive circuit for the day. In terms of sector indices, all sectors closed in the green territory except for the Others Index. The Manufacturing and Processing Index saw the highest gain at 2.22%, while the Banking SubIndex witnessed a minimal gain of 0.05%.
