Slisha Bhandari Sets National Record in Asian Games

September 24: Nepali female shooter Slisha Bhandari has set a new national record in 10m air rifle competition. She scored a total of 616.9 points in the 19th Asian Games underway in China to set the new national record in her first ever international competition.    
Earlier, the record was held by Kalpana Pariyar. Pariyar had set the record in the 2020 Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. She had set the record with 616.8 points.    
Bhandari scored 101.1, 110.3 and 102.5 points in the first three rounds. Likewise, she scored 105, 104.8 and 103.2 points in the next three stages.    

It may be noted that 19-year-old Bhandari started her sports journey from the 9th National Games meet held in Gandaki province last year. -- RSS
