Nepal-India Sign Inter-State Electronic Payment Agreement

June 2: Nepal and India have signed an agreement related to inter-state electronic payment between the two countries.
The agreement was signed in New Delhi on Thursday between Nepal Clearing House Limited and NPCI of India during the ongoing India visit of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Clearing House, Nileshman Pradhan, and Chief Executive Officer of NPCI, Ritesh Shukla, signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU). NPCI is the organisation established by Central Bank of India.
The agreement will facilitate the transactions of Nepali citizens visiting India for study and treatment. The agreement has paved ways for easy transaction and payment between the financial institutions of the two countries.
NCHL CEO Pradhan said a significant agreement was signed to facilitate the electronic payment. He shared that the citizens of Nepal and India could be benefitted immensely from it. Following the agreement, the payment can be made by scanning QR code, which largely relives the problems of Nepalis visiting India from various purposes. -- RSS
