Dr Min Bahadur Shrestha Appointed as Vice-chair of National Planning Commission

January 23: Dr Min Bahadur Shrestha has been appointed as the Vice-Chairperson of National Planning Commission (NPC).

 A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday appointed Dr Shrestha to the post of vice-chairperson. 
NPC Chair and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ administered the newly appointed Vice-Chair an oath of office and secrecy on Monday itself at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar.

Dr Shrestha was also appointed as Vice-chair of the National Planning Commission when Pushpa Kamal Dahal had led the government six years ago. 

Former Executive Director of the Nepal Rastra Bank, Shrestha had served at the NRB for 30 years. He had also worked as spokesperson of the central bank. 

Shrestha has completed Master’s in Public Administration from Nepal, Master of Business Administration from the UK and Ph.D in Economics from Australia.
