Milk production Declines by 6 per cent in Madhes Province 


January 4: Milk production has shrunk in Madhes province. 

A survey on Madhes Province’s Provincial Economic Activities by Nepal Rastra Bank shows that milk production has fallen by 6.03 per cent.

Madhes province produced 60,05,95,000 liters of milk in the last fiscal year of 2078/79. However, the milk production was 63,91,06,000 liters in the previous fiscal.  

During the review period, Siraha has contributed to the highest quantity of milk production.
 

 In the last fiscal year, Siraha produced 12, 61,41,000 liters of milk out of the total mil production in the province. The district recorded milk production of 12,24,70,000 liters in the fiscal year of 2077/78. 
 

In the last fiscal year, Rautahat produced the least quantity of milk in the province. The district produced just 2,09,10,000 liters of milk against 7,32,15000 liters of milk generated in the previous fiscal year. The district saw 71 per cent decline in the milk production.
