Fresh Quake Rattles Sudurpaschim Province 

November 13: An earthquake measuring 5.4 magnitude in the Richter scale rocked Sudurpaschim Province at 8:12 last evening (November 12) .

According to the National Seismological Monitoring and Research Centre, Surkhet, the epicentre of the quake was located at Patadewal of Bajhang district.          
The earthquake was felt in several districts including Baitadi, Darchula, Dadeldhura, Achham, Kanchanpur, and Kailali.    
Police said no loss has been reported so far.    
Last week, the Sudurpaschim Province recorded major earthquakes that rattled the entire region on November 9 and 10. The second earthquake of 6.6 in the Richter scale that occurred on November 10 had claimed six lives. The quake was felt as far as New Delhi in India.

The region has witnessed more than 200 aftershocks.
Nepal Police has been using loud speakers urging local residents of Patadewal to stay outside their houses after the latest earthquake.

According to the police, last week’s tremors had weakened the houses of the locals and hence they were asked to stay outdoors as aftershocks continue to take place.

Sub Inspector Ram Bahadur Bam of Patadewal Police Station said,It is risky to stay inside the same houses after the earthquake on Saturday.”  -- RSS
