World Travel Market in UK will Help Revitalize Nepal's Tourism: NTB

November 11: The Nepal Tourism Board insists that the World Travel Market (WTM) programme held in London will be helpful in the revival of Nepal’s tourism sector. The board said that the event, considered to be the world's largest tourism fair, will help the private sector in renewing old business contacts and expanding new contacts in tourism.

Dhananjay Regmi, chief executive officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, said that Nepal's participation in the fair organized after the Covid-19 pandemic is beneficial for the tourism sector.

"Nepal has been participating in various tourism promotion programmes organized at the international level after the Covid-19," said Regmi, adding that this will help in promoting tourism in post-Covid Nepal in many ways.

WTM was attended by all types of international tourism organizations, ministries of tourism, travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers, travel tech companies, airliners, adventure sports companies, etc. Also, bloggers, tourism market consultants and tourism experts exhibited their products at the WTM.

Likewise, Nepal’s stall at the WTM was visited by tourism professionals, marketing consultants, media, tour operators and others from different countries, including the UK. British mountaineers and adventurers Sir Chris Bonington and Alan Hicks recalled their climbing experience in Nepal and urged all the British people to visit Nepal.

More than 100 British travel and tour operators and British climbers participated in the event. A total of 24 travel and tourism-related companies from Nepal participated at the WTM under the leadership of the Nepal Tourism Board. Nepal’s stall at the WTM was inaugurated on Monday by the Nepalese ambassador to the UK, Gyan Chandra Acharya.
