Nepal Pakistan Friendship Trade Fair Underway in Kathmandu

September 18: Goods manufactured in Pakistan are being displayed in an exhibition which kicked off in Kathmandu on Saturday. Pakistan’s ambassador to Nepal Syed Haider Shah inaugurated the Pakistan and Nepal Friendship Trade Fair 2022 amid a programme at Tripureshwar-based United World Trade Centre on Saturday.

On the occasion, Ambassador Shah said that he expects the exhibition to play a positive role in strengthening the friendly relations between Nepal and Pakistan and to promote bilateral trade as well.

This exhibition is an example of a perfect trade relations between Nepal and Pakistan, said Ambassador Shah. He further shared that both the countries can benefit from the fair because it exhibits home-grown products of both the countries.

Suman Maharjan, managing director of Introduction Trade Show, the organizer of the event, shared that the exhibition will help boost economic activities between the two countries. He further said that the leather products manufactured in Pakistan has a good market in Nepal while the  handicraft products of Nepal are in high demand in Pakistan.

Products such as furniture, leather items, handicraft, clothes, sarees, kurthas, bed sheets, shoes, slippers, jewelries and ornaments among others are being displayed in the trade fair which will run till September 22.

Mohan Sunuwar, proprietor of BS Local Organic Private Limited informed New Business Age that they are displaying apples and potatoes from Mustang and other organic products during the exhibition. He said that there is enthusiastic participation from Nepal as well as neighbouring countries.

This trade fair is being organized annually since more than a decade in collaboration between the embassies of Nepal and Pakistan. This year, even Indian and Bangladesh have set up their stalls.
