Huawei Concludes “Seeds for the Future 2022”

August 18: Smartphone manufacturer Huawei concluded its flagship CSR programme 'Seeds for the Future 2022' in Kathmandu on Wednesday. As per the company, this program is aimed at engaging undergraduate students in ICT-related subjects.

This is the second time that Huawei launched this program in Nepal. It was first launched in Thailand in 2008. The company informed that more than 12,000 students from more than 130 countries and regions have participated in the program since then.

According to the company, 256 applications were received from all over Nepal for the program this year. After receiving the application Prof. Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Prof. Timila Yami Thapa, Prof. Dr. Subarna Shakya and Prof. Dr. Manish Pokhrel interviewed the seven students who were selected on the basis of their GPA and motivation letter.

As per the company, students who were selected in July are getting various opportunities in Nepal's ICT sector through various engagements since then. Similarly, the company said that they will be able to participate in the first regional on-site event to be held in Bangkok from August 19 to August 27.
