Monsoon Break Likely to End from Tuesday   

July 18: The weather throughout the country is partly to generally cloudy at present. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely to take place in some places of hill districts of the country and in one or two places in the rest of the country, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.    
Similarly, there will be partly to generally cloudy weather throughout the country tonight (July 18) and light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely to occur in some places of the hill districts of the country and in one or two places in the rest of the country. There are chances of heavy rainfall in one or two places of Sudur Paschim Province.    
According to the division's analysis, currently the axis of monsoon trough is located towards the south from the normal position. The country is witnessing a rise in temperature for the past few days. It said that the shifting of monsoon trough towards the south from the normal position caused a monsoon break, leading to the temperature rise.

Meteorologist Hira Bhatarai said this year more heat has been felt in hill regions including the Kathmandu Valley than in previous years.    
According to Bhattarai, the monsoon trough is likely to move back towards Nepal from Tuesday with the possibility of rainfall, giving some respite from the heat. -- RSS
