CBFIN holds Discussions with Prime Minister’s Office

July 6: The Confederation of Banks and Financial Institutions Nepal (CBIFIN) held discussions with the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers regarding the problems faced by the economy and their solutions.

Ministers, chief secretaries, secretaries of various ministries and CIBIFIN delegates were present at the discussion held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.

During the discussion, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu expressed concern over the problems faced by the economy. He emphasized on the need to improve the quality of agriculture and forest based products, reduce production costs and increase exports.

Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi said that the ministries should work together for regional reforms.

Deputy Chairman of the National Planning Commission Dr Bishwa Poudel said that customs administration should be improved for trade and investment. He said that the government should focus on the use of local knowledge, skills and products for economic reform and empowerment.

Chairman of CBFIN, Pawan Kumar Golyan said that the economy is in a serious crisis and the government of Nepal, its subordinate bodies, various business associations and banks and financial institutions should work together for the solution.
