Ukraine Crisis has Posed Additional Challenges to Nepal’s Economy

July 1: Nepal Rastra Bank's governor Maha Prasad Adhikari has said that the Covid-19 pandemic followed by the Russia-Ukraine war have posed  additional challenges to Nepal's economy.

Speaking at the oath taking ceremony of Nepal Chartered Accountants' Association on Wednesday, Adhikari said that the impact of Russia Ukraine war has been felt in Nepal as well. This has added new challenges to the economy, said Adhikari.

The central bank's governor said that the world economy itself was facing crisis and Nepal could not be an exception. As a result, economies aross the world have been facing the problem of inflation. In such situation, Governor Adhikari urged stakeholders of all sectors to work together to improve the country's economy.

He further said that the role of chartered accountants is vital for the monetary policy.

During the function, newly elected chairman of the Chartered Accountants’ Association Deepak Pandey said that the association was ready to help the central bank with any kind of problem related to the economy.
