June 29: The Federation of Gold and Silver Dealers Association of Nepal has demanded for relevant laws related to gold and silver business. A delegation of the federation made such demand to the parliamentary committee on Industry, Commerce and Supplies.
The federation argued that it is necessary to formulate necessary laws in this regard as there is no clear law for gold and silver business.
The delegation led by president of the federation Manik Ratna Shakya called on the committee chairperson Bimal Srivastav and other lawmakers to take initiative for making relevant laws. During the meeting, office bearers of the federation also suggested the committee about the issues that need to be included in the law.
Businessmen affiliated to this sector have been complaining about the lack of clear laws related to the operation of gold and silver business. Officials of the federation complained that the concerned bodies are constantly ignoring their appeal despite repeated request for new and relevant laws.
