IT Training for Entrepreneurship Development

June 26: Twenty nine physically handicapped people received Information and Technology (IT) training at the initiative of Bikram Shrestha, President of Nepal Internet Foundation and Birodh Khatiwada, President of Disabled Care Nepal.

The training was organized to develop the ability to lead in entrepreneurship development.

Those who received the training were men and women who were either visually impaired or suffering from hearing impairment or the victims of fire.

Earlier, the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association Nepal had organized a cultural program entitled 'Music for Peace and Harmony' at Patan Durbar with the objective of raising funds to help women with disabilities in entrepreneurship development.

The program was organized in collaboration with Sukarma Band. Established in 2001, the federation is the umbrella organization of women entrepreneurs. The federation has been working for the economic empowerment of women through advocacy, network expansion, information flow, capacity building, vocational counseling among others.
